Awaken The Abundance In You

Awaken the abundance in you

Many of us have a lack or lack mindset: we are obsessed with everything we lack instead of being aware of what we already have. Showing gratitude and appreciation for who we are and what surrounds us is undoubtedly what brings us closest to abundance.

This is not a modern evil. This indefinable feeling that leads us to believe that we are missing something and that we are sinking into the abyss is the existential crisis of the human being. It is  essential to control and rationalize this kind of thinking. If not, this deficiency will grow like a weed, like ivy that ends up covering the windows of a house.

We also know that it’s not exactly easy to manage this feeling. It is not easy because the current and clear social inequality makes the word “deficiency” more tangible than ever. The lack of a job, a fixed income or the prospect of an uncertain future makes the concept of abundance almost ironic. However, understanding this term and applying it to reality from a motivational point of view can help us face our daily life more wisely.

We are sure that this topic will be of great interest to you.

Natural abundance and artificial abundance

A book entitled Sapiens: A Brief History of Humanity , by author Yuval Harari, analyzes in a somewhat provocative way the history of the evolution and success of homo sapiens and the reader somehow senses that in many cases  the cruelty of our species seems to have imposed itself on ethics.

One of the aspects pointed out by Dr. Harari is that we have become accustomed to living in a condition that we could define as “artificial abundance”. For example, we have exploited nature too much to the point of obliging it to offer us much more than what the balance of the Earth and ecosystems can afford. Furthermore, our modernity is oriented towards materialism, in which the accumulation and achievement of “things” defines a person’s status. The lack of these material goods, on the other hand, generates malaise and unhappiness.

We have distorted the authentic and original concept of the term abundance. In the natural environment, abundance is above all balance and respect. It means appreciating what is already there, what surrounds us without the need to break the natural harmony to have more than what nature can offer.

Something that no doubt modern homo sapiens cannot understand because, as Benjamin Franklin once said, we have reached a point where we think that time is money, when in reality time is nothing more than a gift that we forget to appreciate and to live as it deserves.

How to live in abundance

At this point, it is clear that abundance is not synonymous with money, the accumulation of material goods or power. Abundance means living in the fullness of knowing oneself whole, without deficiencies, without voids or with a heart that goes where the wind blows and the eternal feeling of inner emptiness.

As ironic as it may seem, in moments of difficulty and lack it is more important and necessary than ever to feel a feeling of inner abundance. Only in this way will we have at our disposal a true psychological strength to face adversity, to perceive the real opportunities and thus be more receptive to everything that happens to us.

We therefore invite you to reflect on the following dimensions.

Tips for building authentic inner abundance

Many of us are used to the so-called “motivation for deficiency”: my cell phone still works and is in good condition, but now the latest model of that brand that everyone has is out, so I can’t help but have it too .

There are so many things we lack. We may not have a home with great comforts. Maybe our body isn’t perfect and our partner has his flaws too. There is also the possibility of not being able to go on vacation to that heavenly place, while our friends were there last summer. Living in the economy of deficiency is like a virus, like a disease that gradually spreads out like a wet spot on a wall. It’s always there, with that ugly look.

  • Let’s move away from the place that makes us adopt this mental approach. Focusing our existence only on the material sphere is an inexhaustible source of malaise. We will never be satisfied.
  • Change your approach and point of view. Orient it towards what you already have to understand where your strengths, your true beauty and your abundance are concentrated.

Develop an awareness that embraces the positive, the present and concrete reality. Not what is not there, what does not exist, what is missing. Only when you are able to show yourself grateful for who you are, what defines you and what you have, can you open the door to prosperity.
